Calling all actors, singers and dancers ages 7 through adult.
The Leawood Stage Company will hold auditions for Guys & Dolls – a classic musical fable of Broadway on Saturday, March 6th and Sunday, March 7th from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Oak Room of the Community Center, on the lower level of Leawood City Hall (enter the building through the north doors). Call backs will be held Sunday evening March 7th following auditions.
We encourage performers with all types of backgrounds, ethnicity and experience from 7 to 77 to audition. Be a part of this fabulous community theater experience where the Leawood Stage Company focuses on family fun for the 12th year.
Everyone auditioning must be prepared to sing 16 measures from any musical with live accompaniment. There will be an accompanist provided so all those who audition are requested to bring sheet music in your key. Everyone should also be prepared to participate in a short dance/movement audition. Comfortable dress and shoes are suggested for the dance audition. Bring a photo and resume if available. No appointment time is necessary.
Guys & Dolls is often called “Broadway’s perfect musical”. The Leawood Stage Company will celebrate the Tony-award winner’s 60th Anniversary of its debut on Broadway with this production to be performed July 15, 16, 17, 18, & 22, 23, 24, at the Ironwoods Amphitheater in Ironwoods Park.
Director Chris McCoy’s vision sets Guys & Dolls in Damon Runyon’s mythical New York City of the 1930s. This romantic comedy introduces us to a cast of vivid characters from gamblers and showgirls, to mission reformers along with the citizens of New York and Havana.
Additional opportunities for staff, volunteers and orchestra members are available. For more information go to the LSC website at www.leawoodstageco.org or contact April Bishop at the City of Leawood, 913-339-6700 x157, or Email stageco@leawood.org.

For the Guys and Dolls auditions, would you like to see a piece from the show or any audition piece? What is the time limit? Do you need to hear a song as well? Will we be given scripts to read from?
Basically I just need some additional information about the requirements for auditioning.
Thank you very much,
Sabra
Are there any fees to the actors after they are cast?
Please audition with 16 bars of any up-tempo song from a musical. Dancers will be taught a brief combination at auditions. Call-backs will consist of cold readings and singing assigned vocal selections. No monologues are needed.
Sorry for the late response.
Nope, LSC never charges any fees to the actors, however you will be required to provide your shoes and possibly some costume pieces.
Any idea when the Full Cast List will be posted for G’s & D’s?
I’m so upset I wasn’t able to go to the audition. I had planned on it since the announcement last year, but I had to be in Oklahoma City performing in an opera all weekend!
I’m so excited to be able and watch another one of ya’lls fantastic musicals though!
